tragedy

i was reading a graphic novel awhile ago.

it had a rather tragic ending. i had fun reading. haha.

it the usual story line. guy meets girl. they fall in love--first love. then suddenly girl gets sick. diagnosed with leukemia. guy resents the world. girl dies. 

wonderful right?

but then a few years later guy moves on and finds a new girl. they talk about the past girl and how he's ready to let go of her ashes. but i have a question.

does true love only ever come once in your life?

in his case, he learned to love again. when he told his new girlfriend he was ready to let go of the past girl's ashes, he said that he doesn't need it anymore because he has her beside him already. and at the back of his mind, he's saying that at the end of his life, the past girl will meet him again. 

isn't that in a way cheating on the one he's with at present?
